On November 18, 2022 the senior lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology held an educational event within the frameworks of “Brighten the corner where you are” project together with the 1st year students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, and the 4th year students of the Faculty of History and Archeology. The evet took place at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology in Room 221.
The event participants prepared the interesting and vivid presentations on the cities of our vast motherland, made the amazing videoclips about the places of interest of each city of Kazakhstan. The students of group Chemistry 109 of Kazakh Department prepared amazing and humoristic speeches accompanied by the vivid musical videoclips. Their speeches were also of an advertising character which made them very memorable and appealing for the audience. The students of Russian Department of the groups: Nano 101 and Chemistry 101 and the students of Kazakh Department of group: PhMT 102 made interesting, colorful and informative presentations about the cities of North, South and West Kazakhstan. The event also included the performances prepared by the students studying German language. They performed German Folk Dance, recited the poem written by Heinrich Heine, the well-known German poet, made the presentation about the cities of Germany and held the quiz on the cities of Kazakhstan. The student studying at the Faculty of History and Archeology presented the video which showed his piano playing of the musical composition: “Fur Elise” by Beethoven . The students of the group PhMT 101 of Russian Department also showed their video project about the places of interest of the cities of Kazakhstan in English. The students of the groups ChTOS and Food Chemistry showed a small performance as a dialogue about the cities of Kazakhstan and recited the poem: “My Kazakhstan” in English and Russian. The students of group Chemistry 103 of Kazakh Department performed the National Kazakh Dance: Shashy. The event program also included the songs in German and English and the sports dance performed by the students of Kazakh Department of groups PhMT 103 and 105. The students of group PhMT 101 of Kazakh Department sang the song in Russian about the cities of Kazakhstan.
The Dean of the Facluty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Alina Kulbayevna Galeeva also visited the event. She made a speech for the students. She told about the educational opportunities within Academic mobility program and the main directions of the faculty work. She ended her speech with success-wish words and advised the students to pay more attention to their studies and learning foreign languages which are the key component of a future specialist success.
The event was ended with the speech by Muldagalieva Aizhan Aidyngalievna, the associate professor, candidate of philological sciences. She praised the students for their magnificent performances and made an accent on the prominent role of a foreign language competence for the future specialist. At the end of the event organizers treated the participants to sweet things and took a photo together.
