Christmas Celebrations in the USA and UK

        On December 9, 2022 at 14:00, the 4th meeting of the English language club “English through Culture” was held. The club  meeting  was held according to  the plan for December 2022-2023 academic year with the participation of the club members and it was  organized by the head of the club, senior teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages Aliyarova L.M. and  Khalenova A.R. The 4th meeting of the club was devoted to the topic: "Christmas Celebrations in the USA and Great Britain". 1st year students of the Faculty of Law took part in the meeting.

The aim of the event was to introduce the traditions of celebrating Christmas in the USA and Great Britain.

       Within the framework of the club meeting, first of all, the presentations and the reports of the participants of the event were listened. Christmas is one of the most important and favorite holidays of the year, as club members shared their impressions below. This is especially the case for the English. No other holiday, not even the New Year, can compare with Christmas in terms of preparation and celebration. Like other holidays, Christmas is considered special. As part of the topic, students prepared posters and shared interesting information:

1) Umurzakov Nurdaulet - SANTA or FATHER CHRISTMAS

2) Tastaybekova Enlik - A typical American holiday drink

3) Kushbayeva Amina - Christmas pudding or Christmas cake

4) Kulankadyr Togzhan - A fun tradition of pulling Crackers

5) Momynov Kobeisin - Boxing Day

   Club members sang the traditional Christmas song "Jingle Bells". The preparation of students on the topic of the event was also very good. At the end of the event, the head of the club, senior teacher L.M. Aliyarova made a congratulatory speech and expressed her warm sincere wishes to the students.
