Literary critic, writer, translator Aslan Zhaksylykov is TARZHIMAN club guest

On February 16, 2023, the Department of Foreign Philology of Al-Farabi KazNU and "TARZHIMAN" young translstors’ club orgaized a creative meeting with the famous translator, writer, literary critic Aslan Zhaksylykov at the Faculty of Philology. Professor Aslan Zhaksylykov said that the first version of “Kokserek" story (translated by A. Pantilev) was a free translation. He also spoke about his story translating experience, as well as translating stories: "Blood and Sweat" and “Lonely Yurt".

The club members: Oralkhanov Nurtas, Akimzhan Anel, Omirzak Sayatbek, Eskaliyeva Kamila, Adilkhanova Asem and others took an active part in this event.

At the end of the meeting, “TARZHIMAN club” scientific head, associate professor Laila Zhumataykyzy Musaly expressed a deep gratitude to Aslan Zhaksylykov and made a conlusion about the work of another club meeting.
