THE FINANCIER SHARES HIS EXPERIENCE IN THE BANKING SECTOR

Politician, ex-Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Kadyrzhan Damitov delivered a leadership lecture at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The Guest of honor was greeted and introduced to the audience by Board member – Vice-Rector for Financial Activities Kalilla Abdullayev. He emphasized the merits of Kadyrzhan Kabdoshevich, who held responsible posts: Vice Minister of Economy and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The well recognized expert in the field of finance has extensive experience in the banking sector, was a member of the management of such structures as Alem Bank Kazakhstan, Alliance Bank, Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, BTA Bank, National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna, etc.

Kadyrzhan Damitov's leadership lecture on the topic “Kazakhstan's Financial System and New Challenges of the Time: Geopolitics and Technological Breakthroughs” was held in the form of a lively story full of interesting memories of the years of work in the financial structures of the country. “This year we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of tenge. And there is no coincidence that I remember the period of work at the National Bank of Kazakhstan as one of the most difficult. It was very interesting to work there. As a professional and a leader, I developed to a greater extent, because everyday life was full of difficult tasks that had to be solved. At that time, we had not yet heard about time management and other newfangled know-how, but intuitively found the right solutions, by using managerial experience and professional knowledge” the speaker stated.

The lecture ended with a discussion during which the audience was able to ask questions and express their opinions on the issues raised during the meeting.
