On February 24, 2023 Amalova Akerke defended her thesis PhD-doctoral student of the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the specialty "6D060700 - Biology" at the dissertation council of KazNU.

1. Turuspekov Yerlan Kenesbekovich – Professor, Head of the molecular genetics laboratory of the Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology (Almaty, Kazakhstan);
2. Simon Griffiths – PhD, Project leader of Crop Genetics Department, John Innes Centre (Norwich, United Kingdom).
The thesis was performed at a high level using modern methodologies. The dissertation council voted unanimously to award the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
