Meeting with the Head of Representative Office of Mitsubishi Corporation
In the Department of Japanese Studies, a meeting was held with the head of the representative office of Mitsubishi Corporation in Kazakhstan, Mr. Tatsuya Kazama.
Mr. Kazama gave a lecture in Kazakh and Japanese about Mitsubishi Corporation, the direction of the company in the world, Central Asia and Kazakhstan, the current and future economic relations between Kazakhstan and Japan, and then answered various questions from students. “You can contribute to the development of relations between the two countries. You have a great future and great opportunities,” said the guest, who encouraged the students and donated about 30 manga books to the Japanese Studies Department.
The fact that a Japanese citizen in the field of business learned the Kazakh language and gave a lecture in the Kazakh language. The students were especially impressed that Mr. Kazama and the teacher of the department, Professor Takashi Ninomiya, specially invited from the University of Tsukuba, who speaks fluent Kazakh, spoke Kazakh language.
Since 2012, Mitsubishi Corporation has been awarding a special scholarship to the best Japanese Studies student. Prior to this, 10 students of the department received scholarships. Alpysbay Dinara, a 3rd year student of the specialty "Oriental Studies", who received a scholarship this year, left to study at Osaka University in Japan for 6 months and recently returned to the country.
Speaking after Mr. Kazama's lecture, Dinara spoke about her studies in Japan and expressed her gratitude to Mitsubishi Corporation for financial support.

At the end of the meeting, 1st year students expressed their respect to the distinguished guest with a song in Japanese. The meeting was so interesting that the students didn't want to say goodbye to Mr. Kazama for a while.
