KAZNU HOSTS THE STUDENT IT FORUM "FARABI DIGITAL"
The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the student IT forum "Digital Farabi", where qualified IT specialists, well-known entrepreneurs, heads of large companies, investors and students met.
The purpose of the event is to contribute to development the quality of training of IT specialists and graduates, to develop student startups.
Opening the forum, Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that the conference would become a launching pad where students will be able to gain valuable experience and strengthen their skills in the field of IT technologies. Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev set the task "to train at least 100 thousand highly qualified IT specialists by 2025". In his speech, the President mentioned the shortage of 100 million IT specialists in the global market. By 2025, this demand will increase to 200 million. Therefore, today's event has a great importance. KazNU always strives to provide high-quality education and create all conditions for students’ comprehensive self-development and realization of creative potential. Our university is becoming a dialogue platform that unites citizens and talented young people who have achieved success in all spheres. I hope that the forum will be useful for you," the rector of the university stressed in his speech.
The meeting was also attended by ASUS Technical manager Amantai Altanuly, founder of the Factorial Incubator program Arman Suleimenov, Professor of Tsinghua University Zhang Wusheng, leading marketing expert of ZTE Egor Manyukov, member of the Board of Directors of JSC Baiterek Venture Fund, business angel Dana Blieva and others. Well-known experts and entrepreneurs discussed global trends and current issues in the field of IT. According to the participants, the forum will give a new impetus to the activation of IT companies operating in the country, the development of professional skills and demonstration of their potential.
A job fair for students was held within the framework of the forum. Students were offered jobs from government organizations, LLP, second-tier banks, large companies. In addition, students had the opportunity to complete a summer internship in these institutions.
An exhibition of student startups was organized for participants and guests. The purpose of the event is to popularize innovative projects of young scientists of the university. In the afternoon a technological marathon and a competition on the game "FIFA PS5" among students took place. At the end of the forum, the jury awarded the authors of the best startups and the winners of the FIFA PS5 game. All the winners were awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.
