THE WINNERS OF THE XII SUMMER UNIVERSIADE WERE AWARDED TO THE TREASURY

The winners of the XII Summer Universiade were awarded at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. These days Aktau hosts the Summer Universiade of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The national team of KazNU in table tennis successfully started and won prizes.

The head of the university Zhanseit Tuimebayev congratulated the athletes on their victory and wished them new achievements.

"KazNU is famous not only for its scientific achievements, but is also proud of the sporting achievements of its student athletes. The world sports elite includes such KazNU athletes as Ermakhan Ibraimov, Svetlana Podobedova, Dmitry Balandin, Eldos Smetov, Denis Ulanov, Son Igor, Elmira Syzdykova, Nurislam Sanaev, Nurdaulet Zhumagali," the rector noted.

The Rector stressed that the national team of KazNU has been the winner in the team competition at the Summer Universiade for nine years and wished the athletes good health, success and new victories. Zhanseit Tuimebayev also encouraged the winners and coaches with a letter of thanks for the best performance at the XII Summer Universiade.

It should be noted that the KazNU men's table tennis team consists of: Sanzhar Zhubanov, Yerasyl Ganidenov, Yesengeldy Ramazanov – took 2nd place and one gold medal in the individual competition. The girls' swimming team, which included: Enlik Ultarakova, Anastasia Grafinina, Asem Melisova, Angelina Tolmacheva, Lyudmila Yakovleva, took 1st place, and the men's team (Nurdaulet Zhumagali, Alain Okhotinsky, Eldar Shekerbek, Temirlan Abdraimov) took 2nd place. In the individual competition, the swimmers won 12 gold, 10 silver and 2 bronze medals.

In turn, the athletes thanked the university management and mentors for their support and trust.

This year, 115 student-athletes of KazNU take part in competitions in 16 sports at the Universiade.
