Representatives of wiki-communities of Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tatarstan, Bashkiria and Sakha (Yakutia) will take part in the Conference. Representatives of such international movements and organizations as «Wikimedia Foundation», «Creative Commons», «Open Software Foundation» and «Google» company will also participate in the Conference. Opening of the Conference will take place on 20th of April at 9.30 in Al-Farabi KazNU (Malachite hall of Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology).

Organizers of the Conference are Al-Farabi KazNU, public funds such as "WikiBilim" and "Wikimedia Foundation", Beeline company.

The Conference will be focused on the following issues: development of Wikipedia’s Turkic language sections, use and promotion of Creative Commons licenses, use of free licenses and software in education and science. Special session will be devoted to possibilities of Google platform aimed at development of the content in native language, as well as the mechanism of inclusion of new languages into Google- translator service.

Conference of Turkic languages Wikipedias is a part of the project «Kazaksha Wikipedia» which is implemented with support of the Government of RK. The number of articles in Kazakh part of Wikipedia has increased from 7 to 126 thousand within a year. The quantity of monthly visited pages has grown from 200 thousand to 5 million. International Wiki-community recognized «Kazaksha- Wikipedia» as the best project of 2011 (Global Wikipedian 2011).
