Toshiba International Foundation gave a priceless collection of prints to the Scientific Library of KazNU

The event was held in the framework of cooperation of Toshiba International Foundation and al-Farabi KazNU Far East and South Asia Department.


The grant is a brilliant collection of Japanese Edo period ukiyo-e (1600-1868), and it includes a collection of books, videos with an introduction to the ukiyo-e. Ukiyo-e - Japanese engravings, the genre of fine arts of medieval Japan. Nowadays, the whole world admires the Japanese ukiyo-e. Engravings of the Edo period are particularly valuable and are of great interest around the world. Toshiba International Foundation is a nonprofit grant organization that aims to promote a better understanding of Japan. The Foundation contributes to the local and global community development, and contributes to the international community and local communities around the world.
