FORUM “ENGLISH LAW DAYS IN CENTRAL ASIA” WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF LEGAL SCIENTISTS
On September 19 of this year, at the invitation of the British-Kazakh Law Association (BKLA) and the Eurasian CIS Legal Professionals’ Forum (CIS Forum), represented by Mr. Benjamin Wells, Zabih Sholpan Arapbaikyzy, Doctor of Law, took part in the English Law Days in Central Asia forum, which was held in the building of De Montfort University Kazakhstan.
Representatives of large law firms of Kazakhstan, well-known lawyers of foreign countries took part in the work of this event.
The forum discussed such important topics as:
1. Recent events related to sanctions.
2. Ethics in international disputes (contesting arbitral awards) interim remedies / jurisdictional issues.
3. Disputes between shareholders and corporate governance in accordance with English law, the legislation of the AIFC, petitions for unfair prejudice against many Central Asian states (Kazakhstan).
4. Standard provisions in commercial contracts/banking and financial agreements (Uzbekistan).
5. Cross-border insolvency of some States.
Practical experience and theoretical knowledge of Kazakhstani scientists, including dune. Zabikh Sh.A. were very useful in the work of this Forum.
