... "In the wind of poems, like cranes in the heavens"

On October 17, 2023, the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature hosted an  event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Rasul Gamzatov, a Dagestan writer, poet, playwright, and translator in the center of Russian language and culture at the Faculty of Philology of al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

 S.A. Moskvicheva, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian and General Linguistics of RUDN University, Smoliy E.S.,  Associate Professor of the Department of Russian and General Linguistics of RUDN University, Ivanova S.S.,  coordinator of the dual-degree program of SU CIS, graduate student of the Institute of Russian Language and Literature of Udmurt State University, prof. Bayanbaeva Zh.A, the  Deputy Dean of the Philological Faculty for Scientific and Innovation Relations, Tattimbetova K.O.,  the Head of the Department, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD),  the lecturer Dzhalamova Zh.B., the Master of Arts,   the students of the Academy of Sports and Tourism, PhD students, master's degree  students and bachelor’s degree  students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the event.

Begalieva S.B. said that the poems by Rasul Gamzatov were translated into many languages around the world, including the Kazakh language. She recited the poem "Take care of friends," which focused on the goals of sustainable development in education (Goal 4: Quality Education).

PhD student Akasheva A.O. showed a video about Rasul Gamzatov’s creative activity and told about the history of creating the "Cranes" poem. Graduate student Ivanova S.S. conducted a quiz with the students. During the event, the students read Rasul Gamzatov's poems about his homeland, his mother, friends, love, peace and war. They also performed the "Cranes" song. Each participant in the event was awarded certificates of gratitude for their participation.The event was ended by a unique photo exhibition about Rasul Gamzatov  organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo organization.
