INTERNATIONAL WINTER SCHOOL ON THE TOPIC "ENERGY-INTENSIVE SYSTEMS: OPPORTUNITIES AND PROSPECTS"

       On October 24, 2023, as part of the program on sustainable development goals (SDGs) implemented in our republic, the Department of Chemical Physics and Materials Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with JSC Kaztechnologies held an International Winter School in a hybrid format (online-offline) on the topic “ENERGY-INTENSIVE SYSTEMS: OPPORTUNITIES AND PROSPECTS”, where the peaceful use of waste energy-intensive systems, physical security and inventory management (PSSM), including safe and secure storage, as well as the destruction and disposal of energy-intensive materials with their transfer to the industrial sector of mining enterprises were discussed .

      Representatives of ITF Enhancing Human Security, Republic of Slovenia, attended the discussion.

      Blaz Mihelic, an expert on ammunition disposal, Nobel Prize Laureate 2013, in his report “Strengthening human security, secure storage of weapons and ammunition” spoke about the mission of the ITF company - strengthening human security and creating sustainable communities by reducing risks to peace and security beyond an account of innovation, transparency and partnerships, as well as training on the best approaches and proper procedures to be followed to effectively manage energy-intensive inventories.

       Sultanbekov Medetbek Zhyrgalbekovich – regional expert from the Kyrgyz Republic made a report “Energy-intensive Systems: Expertise”

       The resolution made a decision to participate in joint international projects, strengthen the material base of the faculty laboratory on energy-intensive systems and mutually beneficial cooperation between Kaztechnologies JSC and the Kazakh National University. al-Farabi as part of field testing, joint training and academic mobility of undergraduates and doctoral students in the specialty “Chemical technology of explosives and pyrotechnics”.

        A request was received from Kaztechnologies JSC for graduates and engineering specialists in the field of energy-intensive systems.
