SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions

30.10.2023 сandidate of law sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, of KazNU under al-Farabi Ibragimov A.T. conducted a seminar with 2nd-year master students within the framework of Goal 16 "Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions." To build a peaceful, fair and open society, it is necessary to ensure the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms of man and citizen. In light of the rights of everyone to work, as well as to remuneration for work, enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the participants discussed the existing institutions of mediation and the possibility of establishing the facts of labor relations. Thus, the current legislation of Kazakhstan provides that if it is impossible to document the existence of an employment relationship, such a dispute can be resolved in court without applying to the organization’s conciliation commission. Despite the complexity of the disputes, if there are signs of labor relations, as well as compliance with the terms of application, this institution not only provides the opportunity to protect the rights and interests of the employee, but also effectively contributes to the restoration of violated labor rights.
