Maxim Amelin is a well-known poet and writer.

On November 23, 2023, in "Abai" hall of the library of  Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the  students of the Philology Faculty, Department of Russian Philology and World Literature had an opportunity to get acquainted with a writer, a  poet,  a translator,  a literary critic, and publisher of the "OGI" publishing house, Maxim Amelin in the format  of a round table talk, within the frameworks of  "Along the Great Silk Road" Book Printing Exhibition.

         The author told about his creative work, discussed his translation activities, and talked about collaborating with Kazakh writers on projects: “Anthology”,  "Modern Literature of the CIS Countries" and "Modern Russian Prose and Poetry" translated into Kazakh and other languages of the CIS countries. The author recited poems and presented its  translations.

The round table talk  was moderated by  Professor S.B. Begaliyeva, the director of the Center for "Russian Language and Culture."

The author presented his  books as a gift to the library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The bachelor’s degree students, masters’ degree students, PhD students, the  teaching staff of the Faculty of Philology and translator Dmitry Kolchigin (Kazakhstan) took part in the round table talk.

The event was organized by the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature of the Philology Faculty at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Center for "Russian Language and Culture," and Rossotrudnichestvo in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
