IRF administration and the delegation of the School of Politics & International Relations of Lanzhou University

December 11, 2023 at the Faculty of International Relations of al-Farabi KazNU a meeting was held between the IRF administration and the delegation of the School of Politics & International Relations of Lanzhou University. This visit became part of a tour of the School representatives to establish partnerships with universities and research centers in Kazakhstan. During the meeting, partners from the PRC reported their interest in the research and study fields of Kazakh international experts, exchange ideas, study Kazakh researches on China and establish contacts with sinologists in Kazakhstan. International guests also proposed to discuss the possibilities of exchanging students, teaching staff and doing joint research projects.

For their part, representatives of the KazNU IRF represented by Dean L.F. Delovarova put forward proposals for concrete steps towards productive cooperation. During the exchange of views, the parties came to the understanding that international affairs experts and political scientists of the two countries have a mutual interest in beneficial cooperation. The School of Politics & International Relations works in 3 main areas: the theory of international relations, Central Asia and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and anti-terrorism studies. These areas are also the focus of scientists from the KazNU IRF, which opens up new prospects for expanding the range of international projects of the faculty. As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement in principle to establish a partnership and agreed to discuss further concrete steps in such areas as conducting joint research, exchanging knowledge and ideas, and exchanging teaching staff and students.
