WHEN THE PRESIDENT READS THE INTERVIEW

3 january, 2024

I carefully read the interview of President K.-zh. Tokayev today on January 3, 2024 to the newspaper "Egemen Kazakhstan", which is a mirror of our national character. In an interview with the editor-in-chief of the newspaper, a well-known scientist D. Kamzabekuly, the modern life of society and the state, social problems, political course of development, problems and solutions of economic development were analyzed in detail. It is noted that the questions are based on large-scale, fundamental topics. We deeply feel the importance of maintaining a peaceful life and independent statehood in the era of the complexity of political diplomatic relations in the modern world, the aggravation of the military situation in the near and far neighboring countries, the growing "zeal" of a number of countries seeking to take stock of their points in the competition of civilizations. In the development of human society, the trend of the development of the Kazakh people as a progressive nation, the descendants of nomads who have studied the history of the Great Steppe, is reflected in the high level of knowledge that distinguishes between truth and truth, falsehood and sorcery. This can be judged from the president's answer to the question about the "January incident". K.-Zh. Tokayev:"...I've thought about it a lot, and I still think about it often. It seems to me that the tragic January events were caused by the socio-economic problems accumulated over the years, the general stagnation, the degradation of power and society. This is an unspeakable fact. After I was elected president in 2019, our state turned to democratizing the political system, giving freedom to public life, and freeing the economy from monopolization. Representatives of the public, active citizens, experts took part in the development and implementation of the reforms," he further emphasizes that the complication of negative phenomena in society has reached a level that does not accept such positive changes at all. Yes, the creation of an independent Kazakh state and the preservation of its narrative were not easy at all times. Therefore, the time will come to determine the lesson and consequences of the January events in the history of Kazakhstan. We have all witnessed an open mind, an understanding of the need for every citizen to be active and participate in the creation of their own state. The great power to suppress anarchic power and keep society from stagnating is to get rid of the disease of flattery and arrogance, not to become a victim of greed and arrogance.
The interview also gives a place to issues related to the development of historical consciousness, improving the historical memory of society. The president warns the fathers of the negative consequences of "Hurray-patriotism", "extreme" euphoria, which remains in peoples who have lost their independence for a long time. «...Why is it necessary to argue that we were a great people a long time ago, or to stir up former grievances and be kyzylkenirdek?! You can't underestimate how old you are. Obviously, history is an important part of our national identity. Therefore, the state is carrying out systematic work in this direction right now. In particular, a large number of books on various topics are published. New scientific institutions are being created and the former ones are being modernized. Recently, a large-scale research work on the rehabilitation of victims of Stalinist repression was completed. In short, the study of our centuries-old history, the restoration of historical justice remains one of our main tasks," he says, "it is much more important who we are now than who we were before, and, most importantly, who we will be in the future."
Measures for the scientific restoration of the true history of our people require dedication and dedication. Among such works is the preparation of a multi-volume academic publication of the history of Kazakhstan. We hope that this new publication will give impetus to the spiritual development and ideological orientation of the country, taking into account methodological pluralism with the participation of domestic and foreign authors, well-known historians. The conversation also discussed the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the historical state, known as the Ulus of Jochi. The history of the Jochi Ulus will undoubtedly affect the rapprochement of the peoples of Turkic origin who received their children today. Even in the Middle Ages, the multifaceted historical aspects of the great empire, which were able to create the best traditions of statehood, which are comprehensively evidenced by various archaeological, oral, folklore, ethnographic, written, narrative details, are still in need of research.
Questions about the current problems of society, the institution of the family, the upbringing of generations are also answered. Our creation of a secular, legal state is intertwined with the traditional values of education of our nation, which have continued for centuries. Therefore, it is necessary to effectively use the virtues of an open, civil society to avoid scandals in the family, to correct our shortcomings.
It is alarming that the abundance of natural fossil resources of the Kazakh land does not remain a platform for World Economic and political games. In the interview, he spoke openly about the risks of economic and social conflicts arising from the construction of a nuclear power plant, the development of oil and gas.
The conversation of the president-the preservation of the unity of society and state power-once again proves that they are an impregnable fortress.
