KazNU scientists introduce environmentally friendly technologies
Scientists of Al-Farabi KazNU are implementing the project "Introduction of environmentally "clean" technologies of energy production at Kazakhstani TPPs". The aim of the project is to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
According to the project leader, Doctor of Mathematical Sciences, Professor Saltanat Alikhanovna Bolegenova, the new development will contribute to solving urgent problems of thermal power engineering.
The team of scientists has developed and proposed an innovative technology of two-stage combustion of high-ash Kazakhstani coal at Kazakhstani thermal power plants. Using the latest information technologies and 3D computer modeling methods, the study of heat and mass transfer processes and formation of harmful substances in the furnace chamber of the boiler BKZ-75 of the operating Shakhtinskaya TPP was carried out.
"The results of the research allow to effectively manage the processes of fuel combustion in real power plants with the necessary impact on its various parameters, to find the best design solutions for burner devices, to create optimal ways of combustion of high-ash coal, to minimize harmful dust and gas emissions into the atmosphere", - said S. Bolegenova.
The scientists proposed optimal options to minimize emissions of carbon oxides COx and nitrogen NOx into the atmosphere.
