Read for yourself, give to others!

21 february, 2024

On February 14, for International Book Giving Day, students of the Economics-23, K1, and K2 groups, the Department of Economics, held an educational event on the topic “ Read for yourself, give to others!” Since 2012, Book Giving Day has been celebrated annually on February 14th. The purpose of this holiday is to increase the power of books and awaken the love of reading. International Book Giving Day is a simple and kind holiday because it is a promising holiday that encourages all humanity to read books and learn.

The initiator of this international holiday was Emmy Broadmoor, mother of three children and founder of the American Children's Book website. This opinion was caused by my son’s question, “Why don’t people give each other books just like that?” Emmy Broadmoor began with a book giveaway on February 14, reaching out to bloggers, social media users, colleagues, and site partners she knows through her communication channels. According to the principle of the holiday, on this day people should give each other books.
