A seminar on SDGs 12 was held within the walls of the Far East Department

Recently, at the Department of Far East of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, senior lecturer Ph.D. E.A. Akhapov conducted a seminar with 3rd year students on SDG 12: ensuring the transition to sustainable consumption and production models.

The Sustainable Development Goals are a set of 17 interrelated goals developed by the UN General Assembly to improve the well-being and protect our planet.

Goal 12: Ensure a transition to sustainable consumption and production patterns. Kazakhstan actively supports initiatives related to responsible consumption and production, and also makes efforts to achieve this goal.

3rd year students of the Department of Japanese Studies prepared interesting presentations in the format of group work and discussed in detail the progress of achieving the goal in Kazakhstan and Japan. Through comparative analysis, students compared two countries and presented their ideas in a discussion to help speed up the process. In addition, students expanded their knowledge in a Q&A format.
