SDG 16 Peace, justice and effective institutions

On February 29, 2024, the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law of Al-Farabi KazNU held an international scientific and practical conference on the topic: “Improving the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of ensuring environmental law and order,” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi KazNU.  
During the conference, current theoretical problems of ensuring environmental law and order and rational use of natural resources, issues of law enforcement in the activities of government bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the context of the transition to sustainable development were discussed.
The conference was attended by leading scientists from Kazakhstan and foreign countries, representatives of government bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, international and national experts, representatives of civil society, human rights organizations, university teachers and students, and media representatives.
The conference was opened by Kuanalieva G.A., Head of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Law, Professor, and encouraged the participants to actively participate in its conduct.
Next, Erkinbaeva L.K., Member of the Board - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Law, Professor, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech, and also focused on current issues of protection and rational use of pasture ecosystems in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
