On March 11, 2024 the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation studies, Azimbayeva I. K. with the 1st year students of "Foreign Philology (Western languages)" major within the framework of the Sustainable Development project "SDG 3. Good health and well-being " held an educational event on the topic: "There is no way to drug addiction". During the meeting, the students prepared reports, watched a video about drug addiction, and reviewed information and news portals. As of January 1, 2024, 108,722 people in Kazakhstan are under dynamic observation with a diagnosis of "mental behavioral disorders" due to the use of psychoactive substances. This number also includes 18,329 people with narcotic drugs and psychotropic substance addiction. Of these, 91% is 16,817 men, 9% is 1,512 women, and 15 % is 2,734 young people aged 18 to 29, 66. These are children and adolescents. The students took an active part in the discussion of this topic and revealed the main causes and consequences of narcotic substance abuse.
