Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Almasadam Satkaliyev was born on 31 October 1970 in Almaty. In 1992 he graduated from the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, specialising in mechanics, with a degree in mechanics and applied mathematics. In 2002, he defended his thesis on "Planning of pipeline transportation projects in relation to the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan". In 2015 he graduated from the Executive MBA programme of the Graduate School of Business of Nazarbayev University (joint programme with the Fuqua School of Business of Duke University). In 2016 he graduated from the Stanford Executive Programme of the Graduate School of Business of Stanford University. He is a Doctor of Economics.

Career

Since April 4, 2023 by the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan he has been appointed Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Since 14th August 2018 till April 2023 – Managing director – Head of Asset Management Directorate at “Sovereign Wealth Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC.

July-August 2018 – Deputy Chairman at Association of Legal Entities “Kazakhstan Association of Oil-Gas and Energy Sector Organizations “KAZENERGY”.

2012-2018 – Chairman of the Management Board at “Samruk-Energy” JSC.

2011-2012 – Managing Director at “Sovereign Wealth Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC.
