On 10.10.2023, in accordance with the plan of educational work, the curator-adviser of the Department of theory and history of state and law, constitutional and administrative law Abdykadyr Ulan with students of her 114 group visited the Almaty Botanical Garden.
The Botanical Garden was founded in 1932 on an area of 108 hectares (now 103.6 hectares), at an altitude of 856-906 meters above sea level. Currently included in the list of "Specially protected natural territories of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
The Almaty Botanical Garden is a research and scientific and cultural institution engaged in the cultivation and study of plants, promotes botanical knowledge. The main part of the botanical garden consists of plants brought from abroad. The main purpose of botanical gardens is the selection of new plant species, their comprehensive study and introduction.
During the visit to the botanical garden, in the collection of which there are over 7 thousand plant species, varieties and forms, students got acquainted with the flora of Kazakhstan and other geographical areas, with the activities of scientists of the botanical garden on the problems of introduction and acclimatization of plants in Kazakhstan, identification and cultivation of economically valuable species.
The purpose of the event, which was held within the framework of SDG No. 3 "Healthy lifestyle and well-being", was to promote a careful attitude to nature, familiarization with the biodiversity of our planet, a specially protected natural area associated with the protection and conservation of flora, including endangered ones. Students received valuable knowledge, interesting information, the opportunity to "visit" various geographical zones and just breathe fresh air and relax in nature.
