Cooperation between Farabi University and Satbayev University within the framework of the SDGs

In the 2023-2024 academic year, a number of joint works were carried out between Farabi University and Satbayev University. As part of this cooperation, from October 3 to October 5, 2023, an international scientific seminar on the topic “Carbon Nanomaterials for Energy and Environmental Applications” was held at al-Farabi Kazakh National University (https://www.kaznu.kz/). At this seminar, presentations were made by a foreign professor from Austria, Qamar Abbas, “Affordable and clean energy within the framework of SDG 7 (sustainable development goals) targets” and the head of the Engineering laboratory of Satbayev University assoc. prof. Seitkhan Azat "Nanomaterial Applications in Environmental Engineering". They touched upon the topic of sustainable development goals.

From December 11 to 13, 2023, an international conference was held at Satbayev University, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan E.M. Shaikhutdinov. The conference is dedicated to the issues of in-depth training of specialists, testing of the results obtained in the field of synthesis, research and application of composite, nanocomposite, biocomposite and polymer materials, as well as the creation of structures from them, namely, the issues of Sustainable Development Goals 7, 9, 12 and others were resolved. The conference was attended by leading scientists from different countries, including Austria, Italy, France, Great Britain, Romania, India, Poland, Qatar and the CIS countries. At this conference, an oral presentation “Investigation of Carbon-Iodine Interfacial Processes for Hybrid Supercapacitors” was given by Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry of al-Farabi Kazakh National University Supiyeva Zh.A., she was awarded a certificate.
