A leadership meeting on the topic “Sufism: history and problems at the present stage”

On April 25, 2024, at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, as part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Kaznu at the national level, a leadership meeting was held on the topic “Sufism: history and problems at the present stage” with an experienced teacher who has made a significant contribution to development of the education system in the direction of “Sustainable Development Goals”.

The purpose of the meeting is to invite students to understand the essence and significance of Sufism, the period of its development and modern appearance, as well as to understand its modern problems. The guest speaker was Professor of Nur-Mubarak University Zholaman Bulanuly.

During the meeting, main topics related to the origin, purpose, spread, meaning and content of Sufism were touched upon. Issues of concern to religious and Islamic studies students were openly discussed, and they expressed their opinions openly and freely.

At the end of the meeting, students familiarized themselves with the main sections of Zholaman Bulanuly’s book “Sufi Teaching: History, Meaning and Description,” published in 2023, and had the opportunity to receive the book from the author.
