KazNU stadium was commissioned on Symbols Day

In honor of the Day of State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi KazNU a stadium was commissioned.

Chairman of the Board - Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev, scientist, professor of the University of Houston, PhD Shaiken Tattim, foreign guests, representatives of state and public organizations, athletes, teachers and students of the university took part in the grand opening of the renovated stadium.

The head of the university congratulated the staff and young people on the holiday and noted the importance of the sports facility in the formation of a healthy lifestyle.

“KazNU stadium was built in 1986. Today it has been renovated as part of the II phase of construction of KazNU as a unique university sports ground in Central Asia. The ultramodern stadium is made in accordance with international requirements of UEFA and FIFA organizations. The artificial turf and drainage system of the soccer field are in the top 3 best in the world and top 1 in Central Asia. The spectator stand for three thousand seats, locker room, shower rooms are equipped according to the latest standards. I am confident that this stadium will train world champions and set new records,” Tuimebayev said.

In addition to the soccer field, the stadium additionally has fitness equipment, running tracks, paths for cyclists and pedestrians.

The territory of the stadium is landscaped, large floodlights for new type of lighting are installed.

The opening ceremony was followed by a friendly soccer match between teachers and sports youth.
