Excursion of 1st year students of the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics to the Akhmet Baitursynov House Museum
On September 5, 1st year students of the educational programs "Geodesy and Cartography", "Geoinformatics" and "Natural and man-made risks" conducted an excursion to the house-museum of A. Baitursynov, located at the intersection of Baitursynov-Zhambyl streets. During the tour, the students got acquainted with the works and life of Akhmet Baitursynov.
The Akhmet Baitursynov House Museum is a cultural and scientific address dedicated to the life and creative path of public figure, poet, scientist Akhmet Baitursynov. The museum is located at the intersection of A.Baitursynov and Zhambyl streets in Almaty. Baitursynov lived in this house in 1934. By the decision of a special commission established at the state level, the house museum was restored to its former form. In 1998, on the 125th anniversary of Baitursynov's birth, the house museum was completely renovated, the structure, architectural form, and courtyard regained their former appearance. Most of the items placed in the rooms of the house museum were received from close relatives. It presents archival materials, various documents, handwritten heritage, photographs, rare books related to the life of Baitursynov. A group of pieces of furniture and documents related to the life and work of Baitursynov is kept in the House Museum on Torgai.
