In his Message to the People of Kazakhstan, titled "Fair Kazakhstan: Law and Order, Economic Growth, Public Optimism," Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed the implementation of several important decisions for the country. One of these was the decision to hold a national referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant to prevent energy shortages. "Every day, our economy requires a substantial amount of energy. Nuclear energy can meet this demand," said K. K. Tokayev.
