Orientation week in the Faculty of International relations

On August 26, at 11:00 a.m., the official opening of the orientation week was held at the Faculty of International Relations.
The following activities were performed on this day:
a meeting with the dean was held;
meeting with department heads;
a short video about the faculty was shown;
short lecture of the deputy dean for scientific and innovative activity and international cooperation on academic mobility and students' scientific work;
Presentation of faculty's media projects by the producer of "QRA" youtube channel;
Acquaintance with the faculty building, scientific centers and named classrooms was held.

On August 27, at 11.00 a.m., there was a meeting to familiarize 1st-year students with education and student life.
The following activities were performed on this day:
 brief presentation of the study process by the dean of students;
 getting to know the heads of student organizations and associations;
 Introducing 1st-year students to the educational process and academic policy.

On August 27, from 14:00 to 16:00, a campus tour was held for first-year students.
During the campus tour freshers visited:
 History Museum of KazNU;
 Al-Farabi Library;
 Sports complex.

On August 28, at 11:00 a.m., a leadership lecture by Brasilova Akzhunis, a graduate of the faculty, was held as part of the orientation week at the Faculty of International Relations.
Lecture title: "The beginning of the road: how student years lay the foundation for future life"
Brasilova Akjunis shared her opinion on how the education she received during her student years influenced her future career, introduced her current activity and the basics of financial literacy.

n the afternoon of the third day of the orientation week, the Department of Diplomatic Translation conducted tests and interviews to determine the level of foreign language proficiency of the 1st students.
As a result of the test and interview, the teachers of the department divided the students into language groups and gave individual advice on which foreign language would be best for the students to choose.

On August 29, students of the 1st year participated in the international round table for the International Day of Action Against Nuclear Tests, held annually at the university.
The round table meeting was attended by Vlastimil Samek, the representative of the UN Global Communications Department in Almaty, Almasha Arenova, the head of the political cooperation department of the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Mohsen Faghani, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the diplomatic corps, the scientific and academic community, representatives of international organizations, young scientists, teachers-professors and young learners took part.

From 14:00 to 16:00, the 1st year students met with the head of "Keremet" SKO Bayandinova Sayran Mukhtarkanovna.

Sayran Mukhtarkanovna gave detailed information about "Keremet" SKO and shared information about its departments: registrar's office, student office, accounting department, military mobilization department, getting of scholarship cards.

The last day of the orientation week was devoted to a group consultation and question-and-answer session.
During the group consultation, the teachers of the faculty and the management of the student dean's office answered various questions of the 1st year students and shared useful information about life at the faculty.
