THE DEPARTMENT OF CHINESE STUDIES SOLEMNLY WELCOMED ITS FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS
On September 25, 2024, the management and teachers of the Department of Chinese Studies solemnly welcomed new students - bachelors, undergraduates, doctoral students - who enrolled this year. This event was carried out in the direction of "quality education" on the basis of the action plan implemented on the basis of the "Sustainable Development Goals (SUR)". In the new academic year, the department has enrolled more than 100 domestic and foreign students who will receive knowledge within the walls of our faculty in the specialties "Foreign Philology", "Oriental Studies" and "Translation Studies". During the event, the head of the department, E. A. Kerimbayev, and the organizer of this event, associate professor of the department, Daulet F. N., told the newly arrived students about the department, and general information on the specialties studied was also given. During the meeting, 2nd year undergraduates in the specialty "Translation Studies" A. Sadenova, B. Dankey, I. Basar, Wang Yuting, Wang Lingling told the first-year students about the student life of our faculty, and also presented some cultural traditions of the Chinese people related to the language. At this event, modern songs in Kazakh and Chinese were performed, as well as first-year students tasted traditional Chinese dishes prepared by 2nd year undergraduates. The Department of Chinese Studies is the flagship of the Faculty of Oriental Studies both in terms of the number of students and the number of well-known scientists of the country working at the department. The Department of Chinese Studies is an important specialized scientific and methodological department in the Farabi University system and a comprehensive research and training center for the training of highly qualified Sinologists who are fluent in Chinese. Today, the department faces difficult tasks, such as preserving and deepening the experience accumulated since its foundation, preserving the formed team and attracting young specialists to work. The staff of the department work tirelessly to maintain the high level that has developed over the years in the process of training Sinologists, maintaining the continuity of the KazNU research and teaching school.
