On September 30, 2024, the 4th-year students of "6B01704-Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages" major discussed the role of Kazakhstan in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the ways to assist Kazakhstani youth. The students noted that Kazakhstan actively supports the Sustainable Development Goals. They consider that these goals fully agree with the country priorities and objectives which are outlined in the country key strategic documents. During the discussion, the students paid a special attention to the problem of implementing Sustainable Development Goals "No poverty". Poverty eradication is the first of 17 goals set out in the Sustainable Development Agenda. The speakers noted that more than 10% of the world's population still live in extreme poverty, trying to meet basic needs for health care, education, and access to water and sanitation. During the discussion they called for the poor and vulnerable to be given equal access to basic services, ownership and control of land and other forms of property, natural resources, appropriate new technologies and financial services.
