On October 1, 2024, faculty members from the Faculty of International Relations at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Apsattarova Gulzada Abdusagatovna and Maltabarov Arsen Askaruly held a meeting with students residing in Dormitory No. 14. The event, titled "Peaceful Atom and Sustainable Development of Kazakhstan," was dedicated to the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and its role in the country's sustainable development.
This event was timed to coincide with the upcoming referendum on October 6 and was held within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG No. 7 – "Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all." The key aspects of the discussion focused on the vital role of nuclear energy in ensuring energy security and its contribution to the country's environmentally sustainable development.
Students were shown video materials that clearly illustrated the safe use of nuclear energy and its potential for Kazakhstan. After the screening, students actively engaged in a discussion, asking questions about the future development of peaceful nuclear energy and its importance for the country.
The event took place in a friendly atmosphere and helped raise students' awareness of the role of nuclear technologies in the modern world.
