Nuclear Power Plants and Sustainable Development: Safety and the Future of Energy

       On October 5, 2024, explanatory work was carried out for first-year students of the Kazakh and Russian departments of the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics regarding the contribution of nuclear power plants to sustainable development and their safety aspects. Currently, nuclear power plants are recognized as one of the clean energy sources. Their main advantage is the low emission of carbon dioxide, which reduces the harmful impact on the environment. However, safety issues, the storage of radioactive waste, and the prevention of accidents play an important role. The role of nuclear power plants in Kazakhstan's energy future is significant, as the demand for energy in the country is growing.
