"Gender equality as a legal value"

On  October 9, 2024, a scientific seminar on the topic: "Gender equality as a legal value" was held  within the framework of the UN SDGs. It was  organized by the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law of the Faculty of Law of  Farabi KazNU.

 The dean of the Faculty of Law of KazNU Farabi, Associate Professor, Doctor of Law. Akhatov Ualikhan Akypbekovich, head of the department of customs, financial and environmental law, professor Kuanalieva Guldana Amangeldievna, professor and teaching staff of the department of customs, financial and environmental law, invited guests - President "Human Rights Lawyers", coordinator of the One-Stop-Service-"Bir Kadam" Lyazzat Rakisheva Bekmukhanbetovna, member of the Union of Psychologists of Kazakhstan, practicing psychologist of One-Stop-Service-"Bir Kadam" Khabayeva Zhenisgul Zhaparkhanovna, students of group 110, 1st year of the Faculty of Law  took part in the seminar.
    The seminar was opened by the dean of the Faculty of Law, associate professor Ahatov U.A. revealing the goal of the general gender policy within the framework of the UN SDGs, the importance of ensuring women's rights in society and respect for women in general. During the seminar, the head of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Kuanalieva G.A. spoke about the reforms carried out in the country to ensure gender equality, the role of ensuring women's rights in the construction of a civilized society.
   
   The invited guests Ms. Rakisheva Lazzat and Ms. Khabayeva Zheniskul spoke about the activities of the One-Stop-Service-"Bir Kadam" Center for ensuring gender equality, combating domestic violence, preventing it and helping its victims, as well as about the latest changes in Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on these issues and various situations that occur in life. Associate Professor, Doctor of Law. Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, Kuandykov Kaldarbek emphasized the importance of such meetings for students and exchange of opinions with experienced specialists, combining theory and practice.
   During the seminar, students asked questions about problems that aroused their interest, noted the importance of ensuring gender equality in the creation of a legal state, and also the fact that respect for the female community increases the confidence of young people in the future of the country.
