Manifestation of cooperation between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the University of Gdańsk

Meeting of representatives of the Faculty of History of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Faculty of History of the University of Gdańsk

Within the framework of the 17th Sustainable Development Goal "Partnership for the Goals", a meeting was held between representatives of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the University of Gdańsk.

Participants of the meeting:

• Zbigniew Landowski, Associate Professor at the Department of General Modern History, University of Gdańsk;
• Dmitry Panto, Chief Researcher at the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, Republic of Poland;
• Ryskeldy Salamatkyzy Myrzabakova, Head of the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Professor;
• Ainur Talgatovna Suynova, Deputy Dean for Scientific and Innovative Activities of the Faculty of History, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Topics for discussion:

• The issue of preparation for the online conference "Parallels of the history of Kazakh-Polish relations: methodology, teaching methods and modern interpretations", which will be held in March 2025, was discussed.
• Cooperation in the field of education: the participants of the meeting discussed the prospects for cooperation between universities at all levels of education: bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies. The issue of academic mobility of students and teachers was raised, the possibilities of conducting joint research and developing joint educational programs were discussed. The issue of attracting Polish scientists with a Hirsch index of 2 and above as foreign supervisors for doctoral students was touched upon. The possibilities of lecturing by scientists from the University of Gdańsk for students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University were discussed.
• Cooperation in the field of science: the possibilities of submitting joint international projects by Kazakh and Polish scientists, issues of academic mobility, advanced training, and the organization of international conferences and meetings were discussed. Ways and means of активизации international cooperation were proposed. The possibilities of publishing articles by Polish scientists in the journal "Bulletin of the Faculty of History" and publishing articles by scientists from the Kazakh university in Polish journals were discussed.

The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. The participants expressed confidence that it will contribute to the strengthening and establishment of ties in the field of science and education between Kazakhstan and Poland.
