"Republic Day of Kazakhstan: A Symbol of Sovereignty and Unity"
Republic Day is not only a celebration but also a symbol of the sovereignty and unity of the people of Kazakhstan. On October 18, 2024, at 16.30, the 2nd-year students of “6B02303 – Foreign Philology (Western Languages)” major together with senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation of the Faculty of Philology, Ongarbayeva M.S., held a round table.
The event goals were to discuss the significance of Republic Day as a symbol of national sovereignty, unity, and independence of Kazakhstan, as well as to foster young people’s interest in the history of the country and its future development. The lecturer reminded participants that the sustainable development of the country is impossible without coordinated efforts at all levels of society. The event emphasized the importance of nurturing patriotism and awareness among citizens, as well as strengthening partnerships at the national and international levels, contributing to the development of society and the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17). Since youth is the driving force behind sustainable development, their active involvement in socio-economic processes is essential for building Kazakhstan's future.
Advisor-curator Ongarbayeva M.S. prepared a presentation for foreign students on the following topics:
- Major political and economic reforms implemented during Kazakhstan’s sovereignty.
- The country’s achievements on the international stage, including its contribution to global partnership and sustainable development.
- Development of education, the role of youth, and digitalization as key factors for the country’s future growth.
