On October 22, 2024, at 4:00 PM, an event on the topic "The Role of Artificial Intelligence and IoT Technologies in Enhancing Accessibility to Physical Activity for People with Disabilities" was organized by Yerkebulan Naliyev, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Electronics and Astrophysics at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi KazNU, for second-year students of the "Industrial Electronics and Control Systems" specialty at the Samsung Innovation Academy.
The main goal of the event was to promote the idea of creating an accessible environment using artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to improve the physical abilities of people with disabilities.
During the event, a presentation was given on the global efforts to solve mobility problems for people with disabilities, and small projects developed at the faculty were demonstrated. Discussions were held on the potential projects that students could present in the future. It was emphasized that in order to advance work in this direction, special attention should be paid to engineering specialties and in-depth study of natural sciences.
At the end of the event, students exchanged opinions. They concluded that providing engineering solutions through project development, rather than just financial assistance, is one of the most beneficial ways to help people with disabilities.
