“On October 23, 2024 at 19:00 in the dormitory №14 of KazNU named after Al-Farabi was organized a tournament on “togyzkumalak” among students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Care of KazNU named after Al-Farabi. The event was held in connection with the implementation of sustainable development goal of Kazakhstan № 3 “Good health and well-being”, in honor of the 90th anniversary of KazNU and the Day of the Republic, in order to popularize national games.. Togyzkumalak is a game aimed at developing dexterity and wit, as well as mathematical thinking and patience. It is based on the number 9, which was considered sacred to the ancient Turks. The game requires quickness and counting strategy. The purpose of the tournament togyzkumalak - to revive interest in the national game among students, increase their interest, popularize national games and deepen national consciousness through them. Students who became the winners of the tournament on togyzkumalak, were awarded diplomas and sweet prizes.
