THE ROLE OF INTERNATIONAL LAW IN ENSURING PEACE AND JUSTICE

On October 14, 2024, Associate Professor of the Department of Financial, Customs, and Environmental Law at KazNU, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Zh.M. Amanzholov, conducted a class on the subject of “International Law” with 4th-year students of the “Jurisprudence” program.. The main topic of the lecture was Sustainable Development Goal 16 – “Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.” The session focused on the role of international law in ensuring peace and justice.
The students actively participated in discussions, exchanging ideas on ways to enhance the effectiveness of legal institutions. Questions were raised on the topic, and current international issues were analyzed. The class also addressed matters of human rights protection, the rule of law, and anti-corruption efforts. The importance of international organizations, especially the UN, in promoting peace and preventing conflicts was highlighted. Students examined the application of international legal norms through specific case studies.
