Search and Rescue Competitions «Republic KazTur» held in Tamgaly Tas Gorge

On October 25-26, 2024, as part of the celebration of the "Republic Day", a competition was held between emergency rescue services and tourist clubs in search and rescue operations "Republic KazTur" in the Tamgaly-Tas gorge, on the bank of the Ili River in the Almaty region. This event was organized with the support of the Almaty City Tourism Department, together with volunteers from Turclub.kz, the Sports Tourism Federation of the Almaty Region.

The KazNU team, consisting of students of the Zhastur club of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism of Al-Farabi KazNU under the guidance of teachers Beisakhmet A.A., Yesenov M.N., Mominov S.A., Adilbay B.S., took an active part in the competition. On the first day of the competition, the team covered a 19-kilometer route from 21:00 to 06:15 at night. On the second day, the participants demonstrated their sports tourism skills at the "water" stage on the Ili River. Team members - Reikhert E., Kazhigali M., Bolatbek A., Tolegen A.

Search and rescue operations are a type of extreme team competition in sports tourism at mixed distances. This type of competition consists of stages that require composure in unpredictable, unexpected situations. The athletes faced tasks that required collective skills in responding to emergency situations, surviving in the natural environment and conducting rescue operations.
