Congratulations to Dr. Shaiken Tattym on his honorary appointment as a Research Professor

Dr. Shaiken Tattym, PhD, CEO of Peri-Nuc Labs LLP (USA, Texas, Houston), a scientist with extensive years of research in cell biology, has discovered that the cytoplasm can be divided into two distinct phases - the elastic solid cytoplasmic matrix (cytomatrix, CMX) and the viscous liquid cytosol (published in I-Science February 2023, Patent US 2021/0348993 A1). This two-phase system is critical to understanding how numerous diverse chemical reactions can occur without interfering with each other. This scientific discovery holds great promise for studying the causes of cancer and other diseases, as well as developing technologies to treat them.

On the initiative of the Chairman of the Board-Rector of NAO “Al-Farabi KazNU” Vice-President of NAS RK Tuimebayev Zh.K. in June 2024 was established Kazakhstan-American Center focusing on the study of cytomatrix in NAO “Al-Farabi KazNU” with Dr. Shaiken Tattym as a leading researcher.

In October 2024, Dr. Sh. Tattym accepted a position as a research professor at the Baylor College of Medicine, which is part of the Baylor Health System. Along with this, the college administration decided to provide Dr. Sh. Tattym with a research laboratory that is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. This is a testament to the academic community's interest in Dr. Sh. Tattym's research and an acknowledgement of his contributions to the cytomatrix research field.

The administration of Baylor College of Medicine at the meeting with Dr. Sh.Tattym's highly appreciated his scientific advances, expressed confidence and support in the upcoming activities, and, given the ties and close interaction of Dr. Sh. Tattym with NAO Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, expressed interest in the development of joint cooperation with NAO Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on a wide range of academic, scientific and educational activities.
