Within the framework of the SDG project, the Partnership for Sustainable Development item, on November 7, 2024, teachers and advisors of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and undergraduate students of the Arabic department held a meeting with a delegation consisting of the Rector of Al-Qasimiyah University (United Arab Emirates) Auad al-Khalaf and the Director of the Department of International Relations Nuh Zakaria, timed to coincide with the signing of a bilateral Memorandum of Cooperation between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Al-Qasimiya University. The students held a cultural and educational performance, where they defended slides on diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and the UAE, read poetry and sang nasheeds in Arabic, played Kazakh national musical instruments. Representatives of the two universities discussed promising areas of bilateral relations, such as opportunities for mutually beneficial exchange of experience, student mobility, teacher training and joint research projects.
