online lecture "Global and regional trends in non-communicable diseases and their risk factors" November 14, 2024

Join us for the online lecture “Global and regional trends in noncommunicable diseases and their risk factors” on 14 November 2024 at 12:00 CET (German winter time). The lecture will cover global trends in noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), key population health indicators such as mortality rates, life expectancy and DALYs needed to understand the burden of NCDs, will explore the epidemiological transition, global patterns of NCDs and strategies in line with the Sustainable Development Goals to reduce premature mortality from NCDs through prevention and treatment. The lecture will be given by Dr Andreas Deckert, Senior Researcher and Epidemiologist at the Heidelberg Institute for Global Health, who leads noncommunicable disease research and has extensive experience in the epidemiology of both chronic and infectious diseases, with a focus on interdisciplinary research.
