THE UN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS: A HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE
In order to exchange views on the positions and achievements of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the protection of human rights identified within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations A. R. Alipbayev organized a round table with 4th year students of the specialty "International Relations" (IR-33k group) on November 13, 2024. Associate professor of the department Byuzheeva B. Z., Alipbayev A. R. took part as experts.
4th year students Sazambayeva Aruzhan and Tolenbek Yerkezhan acted as speakers on the issue presented for discussion. The students exchanged views, discussed the activities of the United Nations on human rights and the supervision of human rights violations, as well as the role of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the positions of Member States, as well as issues related to the activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. As a result of the exchange of views on the topic of human rights on the questions asked, the students identified a number of problems. The great role of the UN in the field of human rights protection was noted.
