On November 11, 2024, a meeting on the topic of “Gender Equality” was held with students of Group 107, organized by PhD Dr. Myrzatayev N.D. and first-year student Satbek A.M.
Gender equality means ensuring equal access to resources, opportunities, and freedoms for every person, regardless of gender. This includes ensuring equal access to education, employment, healthcare, and participation in social, political, and economic activities. Gender equality also involves rejecting social norms, stereotypes, and discrimination that contribute to sexual discrimination and inequality.
The implementation of gender equality is a key commitment of UNDP. In Kazakhstan, UNDP continues to support the country in fulfilling its gender equality obligations. Special attention is given to measures that open up more opportunities for women to participate in decision-making, become more competitive in the labor market, hold leadership positions in the private sector, and unite efforts against gender-based violence.
Aligned with UNDP’s Strategic Plan, the UNDP’s 2022–2025 Gender Equality Strategy plays an important role in fulfilling these commitments, aiming to support countries and communities in accelerating progress in gender equality and the expansion of women’s rights.
