A workshop with the local executive bodies of Almaty on the topic “Partnership in order to increase the seismic security of Almaty and suburban areas” took place in the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The delegation arrived by representatives of the Akimat of Almaty, the emergency of the city of Almaty, the Ecology Department, the Center for the Development of the city of Almaty, and the State University of Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the workshop, a meeting of guests with the dean of the faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences Aliya Aktymbayeva took place. The dean introduced the scientific and innovative activities of the faculty, which are conducted in the Scientific Center “Sustainable Development and Rational Natural Resources”, the Kazakh-Chinese Laboratory “Technology of distance sounding and application” and current research projects, which are aimed at studying the seismic security of Almaty and suburban areas.

Associate Professor of the faculty of geography and nature management of Gulnara Dzhangulova on the topic “Study of the stability of buildings and structures to seismic vibrations in the geodetic aspect” made a report. Associate Professor of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Aldiyar Aginshev on the topic "Information and anthropic and neurosetic analysis of data on seismic activity." The issues of potential cooperation between the university and the myo in the field of the study of the seismic security of Almaty and the suburban areas, the implementation of student research projects in the field of research "Seismology and Geodinomics" were discussed.

This meeting is implemented by SDG 4 - high -quality education; SDG 8- worthy work and economic growth; SDG 11 - stable cities and settlements; SDG 17 - Partnership in the interests of sustainable development.
