In Moscow the books of the "Turkology" series were presented.
On November 21, 2024, at the Moscow State Linguistic University, in the Center for Kazakh Language and Culture, there was a presentation of the "Turkology" series books, published at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event and the donation ceremony were organized by the head of the Department of Languages and Cultures of the CIS and Near Abroad Countries, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Zhenishkul Samatovna Khulkhachieva who moderated the meeting.
The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for International Affairs of MSLU Vladimir Aleksandrovich Storozhev who in his welcoming speech noted the great work of the Center in introducing students to Kazakh culture, emphasized the importance of such meetings and thanked for the books donated to the university.
Advisor to the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation Edil Khoseuly in his speech spoke about the historical relationship between the two countries and cultures, noting the uniqueness of the "Turkology" series for strengthening cultural and scientific ties. Advisor to the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation Gulbarchin Sulaimanovna Bayymbetova emphasized the importance of joint initiatives and projects aimed at popularizing cultural heritage.
Doctor of Philology, Professor, Executive Director of the Research Institute of Turkology and Altaic Studies, Nursulu Zhamalbekovna Shaimerdenova read out a welcoming address from Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Kanseitovich Tuimebayev. The speaker also spoke about the terminological dictionaries published as a part of the “Turkology” series and their importance for scientific research.
Candidate of Philological Sciences, Assistant Professor of Astana IT University, Amanzholova Dzhemma Bolatovna spoke about the importance of epic literature in the formation of national identity and cultural memory and emphasized that the event is being held within the framework of "Turkic Languages of Kazakhstan in the Context of Spiritual Modernization of Society: from Graphics to Epic Text" project (IRN AP23486380).
The report made by Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the International Academy of Sciences, Professor of T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts Shaimerdenova Mendyganym Dzhamalbekovna was devoted to the historical aspects of the developing Turkic languages and culture. She presented the textbooks on the history of Kazakhstan of which she is the author to the Center.
Doctoral student of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Adia Tasbolatovna Kairzhanova, spoke about the “Turkology” series, in particular about the book by Zhanseit Kanseitovich Tuimebaev, dedicated to the issues of Altaic studies and Turkology.
Arina Anatolyevna Bobkova, a teacher at the Department of Languages and Cultures of the CIS and Near Abroad Countries, spoke about the activities of the Kazakh Language and Culture Center and its future goals.
The presentation was attended by the teaching staff of the Department of Languages and Cultures of the CIS and Near Abroad Countries of MSLU, students and postgraduates were present at the event. The participants of the meeting expressed hope for further strengthening of educational ties between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and MSLU.
