The Diabetes School Day, dedicated to the International Diabetes Day.

The Department of Internal Medicine and Surgery, in collaboration with the Diabetic Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan (DARK) and the Higher School of Medicine at Al-Farabi KazNU, held an important event – the Diabetes School Day, dedicated to the International Diabetes Day. The event took place at the ESM clinic, marking a significant step in raising awareness about diabetes and its prevention, as well as educating patients and students on the proper approach to managing and living with this disease.

The event was organized by prominent medical professionals, including:

Zhumanova Bayan Musaevna, President of the Diabetic Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan (DARK) and an experienced endocrinologist, who played a key role in preparing and organizing the event.

Bektaeva Inabat Seitkasymovna, an endocrinologist and instructor at the diabetes school, who actively participated in the educational part of the program, sharing her knowledge and experience in diabetes prevention and treatment.

 

The event attracted the attention of numerous medical professionals. Among the speakers were:

Toleuova Nadine Ilsovna, a cardiologist, who highlighted the connection between diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and provided advice on preventing complications.

Zhuldyz Seitzhapparkyzy, an ophthalmologist, who discussed the impact of diabetes on vision, methods for preventing diabetic retinopathy, and other eye diseases related to diabetes.

Seidynova Aigerim Shoraevna, an endocrinologist, who shared up-to-date information on the treatment of diabetes and modern approaches to blood sugar control.

Asem Serikkanovna, an endocrinologist, who presented information about the latest achievements in diabetes prevention and innovative treatment methods.

Tankaeva Sholpan Abilkasimovna, a neurologist, who spoke about neuropathies that can occur in diabetic patients and ways to prevent them.

Momynov Bakytzhan, a cardiovascular surgeon, who provided information on preventive methods aimed at eliminating complications of diabetes, such as diabetic foot.

Additionally, as part of the event, students from groups GM24-02, GM22-01, and GM22-02 were given a unique opportunity to listen to lectures by leading specialists and participate in practical sessions, which helped them gain a deeper understanding of issues related to diabetes and methods for its prevention and treatment.

This Diabetes School Day became an important event aimed not only at informing and educating people living with diabetes but also at training medical students who will work with such patients in the future. During the event, participants exchanged experiences, discussed the latest scientific developments in diabetes prevention and treatment, and addressed issues that are relevant to modern medicine and society as a whole.
