Development experience of the countries of the East

Al-Farabi KazNU hosted an international scientific-practical conference ‘Pragmatic experience of development of the countries of the East’, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the honoured figure of Kazakhstan, orientalist scientist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Nurjamal Abdirazakkiza Aldabek and the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi KazNU.

The conference was attended by permanent representatives of international organisations, ambassadors from different countries, official representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, directors of scientific institutes, professors, teachers, rectors of the leading universities of the country and students.

Opening the meeting, Sabit Suatai, Acting Vice-Rector for Social Development of KazNU, congratulated Professor Nurjamal Abdrazakovna on her jubilee and read out a congratulatory letter from Zhanseit Tuimebaev, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: ‘Your scientific and pedagogical career is inextricably linked with KazNU. You were a lecturer and associate professor of the Faculty of History, and also headed the Faculty of Oriental Studies. You became a patron of students, brought up educated students and created your own scientific school. As a scientific supervisor of candidates and doctoral students you implemented large-scale scientific projects and conducted fundamental research on the history of Kazakhstan, as well as wrote many fundamental works. Your pupils, trained under your guidance, are actively engaged in scientific activity both in our country and abroad. Your achievements have been recognised and appreciated by the international scientific community. The University is especially proud of such teachers as you’.

In turn, the chairman of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of RK Adilet Toibaev told about the life path of scientist Nurjamal Abdrazakovna in the field of education and science, and also read out a congratulatory letter from Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Education and Science of RK.

Within the framework of the conference, the participants discussed topical issues of modernisation of Eastern countries and its prospects, cultural bases of development, as well as humanitarian knowledge and intellectual values of the society of these countries.

The event was organised by the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
